The Environment and Society Minor, is an undergraduate Minor that is administered by the Faculty of Arts at UBC. Undergraduate students in any faculty/major at UBC can take the Environment and Society Minor as part of their undergraduate degree. (Though it is always a good idea to check with your major program advisor about any possible complications.)
The Minor enables students with an interest in the connections between environmental and societal issues to explore these in greater depth, and to get credit for their studies in this area on their transcript. The minor requires students to take some courses in science, and in social science and/or humanities courses related to environmental issues. The Minor is very flexible. It is not restricted to courses in a single program or department, and allows students to tailor their studies to their particular interests.
